DRILLING AND COMPLETIONS AT CHEVRON:

Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Deepwater Drilling Engineer located in Lagos, Nigeria through July 23 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time). 

Housing is in a camp environment (Lekki). International Schools Grade 1 - 9. Malaria & other tropical diseases are prevalent - necessitating preventative treatment program. Medical facilities in camp sufficient for basic health and emergency care. Armed security escorts are generally required for travel in and through the urban centers at night.



POSITION DETAILS:    

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

Steward deepwater drilling programs and procedures through all phases of the project.

Responsible for the preparation and execution of well-written, risk-assessed/mitigated detailed procedures.



REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN ENGINEERING.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in deepwater, including injector (gas and water) and intelligent producer, well drilling projects and operations. Technically and operationally credible to influence engineers, superintendents, DSMs, asset team & service partners, as appropriate to achieve safe, regulatory-compliant, reliable, and efficient designs and operations.

Proven Communication, Documentation & Mentoring Skills: Able to work well with all stakeholders and maintain clear communication channels. Provides technical guidance and mentoring to well completion, intervention, and workover engineers.

Proven organizational skills: Responsible for preparing well completion, workover, and intervention project plans to achieve Clear Leader OE results. Able to manage and coordinate, with a dynamic rig schedule in a challenging remote location, ordering, delivery, and QA/QC of equipment and operational activities of many service partners in support of complex completion, workover and intervention operations.



RELOCATION OPTIONS:

JOB DESCRIPTION 

An International Operating Company in Lagos, Nigeria is looking to recruit a Technical Assistant for its HSSE Group. The role of this job is to provide support to the HSE Division to facilitate smooth processing of technical administrative matters covering QHSE filing, data entry, HSE records management, KMS databases and related issues. Undertake statistical calculations and reporting, including tracking and trending of QHSE performance. 

Establish and maintain a manual / computerized filing and documentation management and retention system for the HSE Division to ensure that all technical documentation and records are maintained in an orderly manner to facilitate retrieval.

Develop and maintain an up-to-date database on Power2, Near Misses, HSE alerts, accidents, contractors, emergency information, laws and regulations, changes, procedures and policies and all QHSE issues to support and complement HSE Division activities. 

Generate statistical information, including tracking and trending from recorded QHSE data to assist management in assessing progress and performance, identifying loopholes and areas of concern to facilitate decision-making. 

Take down minutes of technical QHSE meetings and circulates among meeting attendees and other designated individuals. Keeps track of QHSE issues relating to projects undertaken by the Company to participate in the preparation of up-to-date reports. 

Follow up with relevant divisions, contractors and consultants on various corrective actions, measures and changes in QHSE plans, policies and procedures, as directed to ensure implementation and to facilitate the division’s workflow. 

Provide administrative support to the HSE division’s budgeting process. Maintain a track of division expenditures and notify Vice President on deviations from set budget lines. Maintain a record of justifications for deviation for future retrieval for reporting purposes. 

Maintain confidentiality of assigned work, ensure that confidential information is not revealed other than to those specified, to safeguard the Company's interests.

Perform other similar or related duties as and when assigned by direct supervisor. 

Document control duties for QHSEMS, QHSE audit and incident files. 

Focal point for data entry related to Hazop, MOC, incidents, audits 

Coordinate HSE input to the Company.



REQUIREMENTS 

Degree in Egnineering or equivalent Technical Discipline. 

At least 3 years experience in providing technical support to engineering projects, preferably within an HSE Division / Department - Experience in the Oil and Gas Industry will be an added advantage. 

Experience in word processing, spreadsheet and database software - Courses in Health, Safety and Environment will be an added advantage

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Co-ordinate the pipeline construction engineering and constructability aspects of projects to ensure that objectives are met within the approved scope, budget and schedule with available construction equipment, assets and resources.
Monitor and review Contractors pipeline engineering effort, ensure constructability and make recommendations to Senior Engineering Co-ordinator.
Draft/ review/ approve the pipeline route survey and pipelay work processes.
Prepare the documentation required by the necessary regulatory bodies with special reference to the pipeline route survey and laying works.
Prepare and maintain the BOD for the pipeline project in order to ensure that all disciplines work to consistent and up-to-date information. The BOD will be maintained in a “current” condition throughout the project phases by regular review and updates.
Develop specifications for material selection, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning and operation of the various pipelines in service with Company.
Maintain pipeline records of all existing pipelines in order to avoid unplanned pipeline crossings, etc.
Co-ordinate land acquisitions and secure pipeline right of way (ROW) easement.
Co-ordinate and develop pipeline engineering plans and specifications including pig launchers and receivers, leak detection systems and flow measurements.
Ensure that Addax quality control procedures are being followed while performing the various tasks on the project as per QMS and PQP.
Perform construction engineering calculations for onshore and offshore pipelines, in accordance with international codes and standards, good engineering practice and specific project requirements.
Interact with other disciplines as required for design development on projects and with Contractors / Vendors / PSC department. Co-ordinate with other lead engineers for interdisciplinary tasks.
Identify issues that impede project progress and report to the Senior Engineering Co-ordinator.
Prepare and present man-hour estimates, PEP and weekly reports, progress reports, etc as required.
Technically evaluate and specify equipment and services associated with pipeline route survey, pipeline installation, PLEM installation,  sub-sea mattress installation, subsea pipeline crossing construction, etc.
Ensure the implementation of HSE requirements throughout all the phases of pipeline system design.
To participate in HAZOP’s and other key design reviews. 
Co-ordinate and maintain pipelines environmental assessment studies and developing mitigation strategies.
Identify new methodology of work process required for higher productivity.
Carry out conceptual studies, including techno-economic feasibility studies for optimum pipeline design development.
Provide offshore pipelay barge engineering support as well as other interdisciplinary support should the requirement arise.
Carry out site visits, offshore and onshore, as required, to confirm that the works is being executed by Contractor as specified in the Contract and with optimum planning.
Monitor and approve as-built documentation prepared by construction contractor, perform walk-throughs where necessary and prepare close-out reports.
May occasionally be required to act in the capacity of consultant and produce discreet work package deliverables.
To provide input to Front End/Conceptual/Detail Engineering studies with respect to pipeline design, constructability and operating issues.
  
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum fifteen (15) years relevant oil industry experience 10 of which should be with an oil industry pipeline installation contractor at least 5 years must be with an offshore pipelay contractor in the role of construction engineering support and analysis.
Must have worked as a pipeline construction engineer/offshore field engineer/senior pipeline engineer and have been involved in both onshore and offshore projects. 
Must be used to working in a multi-discipline environment. 
Must have extensive experience of Off pipe, Caesar2 and similar construction Engineering analysis software for construction support engineering
University Engineering Degree (Pipeline) – 2nd Class Honours or better
